Elderly Enjoying More Vigorous Old Age
Americans are not only living longer but also more vigorously than ever. Fewer people over age 65 require nursing home care and more are living on their own with little or no outside help, accordingo a recent study. "The likelihood of the elderly being vigorous is higher now than ever before," said Kenneth Manson a Duke University researcher and co-author of the study published in the proceedngs of the National Academy of Sciences. "The active life expectancy is increasing as well as life expectancy itself." He went on to report that older Americans now are better educated, tend to tak better care of themselves than ever before, and are taking advantage of new knowledge about how to stay healthy. Interestingly, a report published by the Rand Corp. in the early 1990s found that eldrly chiropractic patients report better overall health, have fewer chronic conditions, spend fewer days in nursing homes and hospitals, are more mobile in their communities and are more likely to reprt strenuous levels of exercise than their non-chiropractic counterparts.
The Bottom Line:
As we learn more about how to stay healthy and make lifestyle decisions that make a posiive contribution to our health and well-being; the predictable result is better health. Now add regular, simple chiropractic care to the equation and experience what we have been saying for decades..that chiropractic adds years to life and life to years!
